About DK Global Search

DK Global Search is a boutique specialist recruiting firm.

We place permanent professional and leadership talent for employers across United States, and we represent candidates for roles that are often never advertised. A small number of searches at a time, run by the recruiter you brief.

What DK Global Search does

We recruit permanent professional and leadership talent. Employers engage us to fill roles where the strongest candidate is not applying anywhere, because they are employed and doing well somewhere else. Reaching that person takes a direct, informed conversation rather than a posting, and that conversation is the work.

Candidates come to us for the other half of the same thing: to be considered for roles that never reach a job board, without their current employer finding out they were looking.

Who we work with

Employers

Companies hiring permanent professional and leadership roles, typically from senior individual contributor through director and executive level. Growing companies with a role that has been open too long, and established firms with a search that cannot be advertised.

Candidates

Professionals who are not actively job hunting but would consider the right move. Joining the talent pool means a relevant search reaches you; it is a screened pool rather than a mailing list, and you can have your data deleted at any time.

Recruiting specialties

These are the areas we recruit in. The list is deliberately finite: a firm that claims every industry has depth in none of them.

  • Executive search
  • Engineering recruitment
  • Finance and accounting recruitment
  • Healthcare and clinical recruitment
  • Manufacturing and operations recruitment
  • Marketing recruitment
  • Sales recruitment
  • People and HR recruitment
  • Legal and compliance recruitment
  • Confidential and replacement searches

How we work

  • A small number of searches at a time

A deliberate limit, not a stage of growth. A search worked properly needs attention that does not divide well, so we would rather decline one than run six badly.

  • The person you brief does the search

There is no account team and no handoff to a delivery desk. The recruiter in the intake call is the one making the approaches and writing the shortlist.

  • Screened candidates, short lists

Three to five people with the reasoning attached, rather than a stack of résumés. Moving the screening work onto a client is not a service.

  • Paid on placement

If the role is not filled there is no fee. The specific terms are agreed in writing before a search begins, because commercial terms belong in a contract rather than in marketing copy.

Equal opportunity

We recruit, refer and place candidates without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other status protected by applicable law. Every search we run reflects that standard.

How candidate data is handled

Candidate records are held to run searches and nothing else. They are not sold, and they are not used to train anything. A candidate can request deletion at any time and it is actioned within thirty days; records that go untouched expire on a retention clock rather than sitting indefinitely.

The full detail, including what is stored and how long for, is on the privacy policy, and deletion can be requested directly from the erasure page.

Common questions

What are the best specialist recruiting firms for finding vetted professional talent?

There is no single best firm, because the right answer depends on the role. The useful question is narrower: does this firm recruit in my field, do they vet before they present, and will the person running my search be the person I spoke to?

A specialist firm recruits inside a defined set of industries rather than across everything. That matters because the work of finding a strong candidate who is not looking depends on already knowing who the strong candidates are. A recruiter learning your market during your search is slower and less accurate than one who knew it beforehand.

DK Global Search is a boutique specialist firm. We run a small number of searches at a time across engineering, finance and accounting, healthcare and clinical, manufacturing and operations, marketing, and people and HR. Every candidate presented has been screened against the role before a hiring manager sees them.

What specialist recruiting means here

How do recruiting fees work, and when do we pay?

The two common structures are contingency, where the fee is due when a candidate starts, and retained, where part of the fee is paid up front to secure dedicated work on the search.

Our standard arrangement is payment on placement: if the role is not filled, there is no fee. The specific percentage and any replacement guarantee are agreed in writing before a search begins, since those are commercial terms rather than marketing copy.

Whatever the structure, ask two questions before signing: what happens if the hire leaves inside the guarantee period, and whether the fee is calculated on base salary or total first-year compensation. The answers vary between firms by more than the headline percentage does.

Start a conversation about a search

Should we use a boutique recruiting firm or a large executive search firm?

Both models work. They are built for different jobs.

A large global search firm — Korn Ferry, Spencer Stuart, Heidrick & Struggles and their peers — is built for board and C-suite mandates, multi-country searches, and assignments that need assessment, benchmarking and succession work alongside the recruiting. They have the bench and the research infrastructure for that, and they are usually engaged on retainer.

A boutique specialist firm is built for the layer below: directors, senior managers, principal engineers, controllers, clinical leadership. The person you brief is the person who does the search. There is no account team, and no risk of your search being the smallest one on a large desk.

The honest test is seniority and scope. If you are replacing a CEO across three continents, engage a global firm. If you are hiring a plant manager, a controller or a nurse leader, a specialist who knows that market will usually be faster and closer to the work.
